About

Hello, my name is Randy Sperling and along with my good friend and business partner, Lorrie Klemons, we created this blog to give me an outlet to express my feelings, thoughts, emotions, and reactions about my son Philip’s 25 year struggle to regain his health.

We want to keep family and friends informed of Phil’s progress and felt this would be a good way to do it. This is a running history of the journey!

Please check back to Philip’s Corner regularly for daily updates.

After struggling for so many years to understand how to navigate the hospital and medical arenas in order to get the best possible care for my son on the one hand and  to ensure he is not negatively impacted by the plethora of mistakes, indifference, and oftentimes, general apathy of the medical field,  I knew I had to take action to help others.

Lorrie is an RN and together we felt we could use our combined 63 years of professional and personal health care experience to create an avenue for other people to benefit from our expertise as patient advocates. To that end we created a program which will be showcased on our new website called PATIENT ACTION! Here you will find articles about advocating for yourself or loved one in the health care arena. The mission of the website will be to help health care consumers find their voice as they empower themselves in order to get their health-related needs met.  It is our strong belief that through knowledge comes confidence, and through confidence comes empowerment. This empowerment will come through a series of articles that will teach patients how to find and use their voices in obtaining the best health care possible. This website will be up and running soon and you will be able to access it through a link on this blog called PatientAction. com. In the meantime, access the blog by going to www.PatientAction.com.

We’ll look forward to hearing from you!

Stay tuned!

Randy
