Back at the ER…Philip woke with terrible pain in his knees this morning and was unable to move around. We tried heat and then ice and just hoped it would get better. By late this afternoon the pain was very bad and when I looked at his legs I realized that at first we had one swollen leg and foot, then two swollen legs and feet and now we also have two swollen knees. UNC suggested that he be seen by a doctor; however, he was unable to get up and walk by himself. We called for help. It seems that he went from having severe diarrhea, to having mild diarrhea with swelling and oozing. The staff at the ER wants to watch him closely and see if they can get rid of some of the fluids. It is these fluids that are causing the swelling and the tremendous pain. It is always a challenge dealing with Philip’s medical issues. It is a greater challenge dealing with Philip in pain.
We are hopeful that there will be good news tomorrow.
I continue to pray for Philip. He is such an inspiration to me. He phoned me one afternoon last week, and as usual, Philip is very interested in how “I” am doing since the passing of of my ex-hubby & best friend in May. Philip is so compassionate toward others. As I tried to find out exactly how HE is doing, he DID share some things. Then, he shared a lot about his nephews and nieces! Philip, like I, LOVES little children!! :*) So, we told each other stories about the kiddos in each of our lives. I have grandkids, and he has his nieces and nephews. I will KEEP on praying for my friend Philip! bighugz. Lois
