The symptoms remain the same. There is absolutely no improvement. I am getting concerned because he seems to be getting weaker and weaker. Today he had two episodes with vomiting and then struggled with breathing. There is some talk of it being reflux. They are still unable to get an IV in and he is unable to keep anything down. The staff has been absolutely wonderful. The doctor has been in and out all day long. There is a very subtle message from the staff that they are concerned as well. They are doing everything in their power to help him. Philip is a fighter but his strength is gone.

The complexity of health care is increasing. Communication is one of the most important aspects of care within the health care system. Knowing how to use your voice within any health care setting is critical in order for you to partner with your health care team to get the best health care outcomes possible. When you understand your care and treatment options you can work along with your health care providers to make the best health care decisions for you as an individual. Patient Action provides health care consumers with the knowledge they need in order to advocate for themselves. This book will definitely help you find your voice.

We are praying and hoping that these symptoms stop and Philip’s health turns around. We send our love to all of you.
We continue to daven daily for a speedy recovery. hashem should help heal and give the strength to all of you to keep focused, positive and hopeful. all the best!!
You are in our prayers.I went through the exact same thing with Mike. He would be fine and then his ammonia levels would increase. That was the hardest thing to control. He was taking a lot of lactulose. One time when I picked up his prescription the assistant went over the dosages with me again – I think she was concerned he was taking too much – your right you need to be very careful with dehydration. We found small bland meals worked best for Mike. Mike was also taking the antibiotic for his liver and that also seemed to help him. When they have no strength it`s the worst all they want to do is sleep. Then they want to give up – please tell Phil for me that we are thinking of him and I am also thinking of you and your family. I don`t know why God does what he does – everyone will tell you he has his reasons – that I don`t know either – what I do know is your never alone always remember that.
Dear Heather,
thanks for your responses. I know it means a lot to Randy to have someone who truly knows her pain. I pray this finds Mike doing well.
