Never underestimate the power of persistence. On the other hand, be sure and have realistic time expectations. Early this morning I was told that it would take at least a week to get the approval for the pump and medication. I spoke with the insurance company, then the doctor’s office and them the provider of the pump and medication, over and over again until I figured out what was happening and got everybody on the same page. The result is the hospital called and Philip was admitted this evening into the IUC unit to begin the process. This evening they will begin giving him the medication through and IV and tomorrow they will install a line into the central vein and the pump.
